Thanks for posting this.
ReplyDeleteI recognise some of the photos. At that time I had a collection of Formula 1 dinky cars that I played with every day as I was also a race car fanatic. I used my pocket money to buy some of the Motor Sport issues and kept them all until we moved and my mother threw them all out!
Sounds like you would have got on with POB. My dad wrote in his memoirs about mothers throwing out valuable collections!:
ReplyDelete"We got David going on scrapbooks, giving him a whole lot of pics and articles on Maserati to complement Mike’s Ferrari and my Mercedes. We were horrified to find the scrapbook with spare pics and some of our magazines out in the rain in the yard. David's mother had thrown them out! Strange. She just did not seem to realise the value of her son’s hobby. I took the book home, and still have it in extended form as part of my collection."
Thanks for your comment,
Catherine
Thanks for sharing this was pretty amazing to see your scrapbook. It brings up some great childhood memories from when we were younger. Have a great rest of your day and keep up the fun posts.
